Building an Altar

A year ago, in March 2017, we had our Victory Sunday for Give Life where our church family committed to giving $2.16 million over 3 years toward our $7.85 million Phase 2 campus expansion. Thank you all so much for your pledge and for giving faithfully this first year of Give Life!
On that same day, hundreds in our church family wrote words on some rocks. In the Scriptures, when the people of God finally arrived in the Promised Land, they gathered rocks from the Jordan River to build an altar as a memorial and sign that reminded them of the faithfulness of God and all he would do in the future (Joshua 4:1-7, 19-24). They even included the children (6-7, 21-22).
So on Victory Sunday, adults and children wrote on rocks what they wanted to see God do in our expansion and what they wanted Phase 2 to be built on. Some wrote the names of people who do not know Jesus Christ and who they want to become believers as a result of this ministry. We built an altar with these rocks.

Laying a Foundation

Now one year later, we laid these rocks on the prepared site where they poured the foundation of our church. We set our foundation on these rocks that affirm our belief in all that God is going to do through this Phase 2 Project! It is on this confession of our faith that God will build his church!
"...on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18 (ESV)
"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."
Corinthians 3:11 (NIV)
Thank you again for your gifts and for laying a foundation to give life to our community and world!

Prayer Focus: Easter

Let’s pray for this Easter season. We are having 5 community Easter services (2 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday) because we want to be able to have more people experience the Easter message. People are more open to going to church on Easter than any other time of the year.

Let’s pray that people in our community come and hear the Good News of the Gospel. For our church family, let’s pray that they experience the deep renewal and great hope that the resurrection of Jesus Christ give us!
